For reasons that many poetry lovers will be aware of, it is becoming increasingly difficult to sustain the operations of a small independent poetry press. Hearing Eye is not able to rely on mass sales through bookshops and – thanks to London’s successful Olympic bid – Arts Council grants are now harder come by. We have published over 150 books and pamphlets since 1987, most of them by contemporary poets and many of them by previously unpublished new voices.
