John was a much-loved figure in the worlds of poetry, political activism and beyond. There have been many tributes to John including this one (http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/e3f92442-27e0-11df-9598-00144feabdc0.html) by Hearing Eye poet, Harry Eyres, in the Financial Times.
